About
I am Dr. Giriraj Bora , Head of Minimal Access HPB Surgery & Liver Transplantation at Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon. With over a decade of experience in hepatobiliary and liver transplant surgery, I lead one of India’s most trusted and high-volume liver transplant programs, performing over 100–125 liver transplants annually.
I take pride in being among the very few surgeons — and perhaps the only one in India — who offers all forms of liver donor surgeries under one roof, including:
Conventional Open Surgery
Pure Robotic Donor Hepatectomy
Laparoscopic Liver Donor Surgery
Minimal Access (Hybrid) Techniques
Throughout my career, I have been passionate about innovation and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in liver surgery. I performed the first Cadaver Liver Transplant and the first Living Donor Liver Transplant in Rajasthan. I have also led some of the most complex living donor liver transplants using rare grafts like Right Posterior and Monosegment Liver Grafts, and introduced the use of Bovine Jugular Vein in Human Living Donor Liver Transplantation — a first-of-its-kind initiative in India.
At Artemis Hospital, we are also among the very few centers globally, and the only one in India, performing both laparoscopic and pure robotic minimally invasive donor hepatectomies, making donor surgery safer and more patient-friendly.
My mission is to further refine these advanced techniques, make them more accessible, and train the next generation of surgeons in this challenging but rewarding field.
If you’d like to connect, collaborate, or learn more about our work at Artemis, feel free to reach out.
